Commissioner's Corner

I don’t know about you but my Scout calendar is filling up fast!  There are a lot of activities and events coming up that you don’t want to miss.

Have you registered for the annual Volunteer Dinner on April 9th?  It’s not too late to join your Scouting friends and family in recognizing the many outstanding Scouters in our Council who are making a difference.

Speaking of making a difference, are the Units you serve participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive?  Door hangers go out on April 20th and food collection is on April l27th.  Good deeds are a part of our heritage.  Get involved!

We still have some units that have not completed the rechartering process.  Commissioners, how can you help?  Ask your District Commissioner.   Don’t let youth miss out on great programs and advancement opportunities because of missing or incomplete paper work.

Unit Commissioners have been busy so far this year making visits and contacts with units.  Keep up the good work.  Every unit needs the support of an active Commissioner.

Don’t forget to promote the Wood Badge course that our Council is hosting in Aug and Sept.

There are a couple dates that should be on your commissioner calendar.  The first is April 22, the next Commissioner’s Cabinet meeting.  It will be held at Stanwood Elementary School in conjunction with the Council Coordinated meeting and begins at 7:00 p.m.

The other date to put on your calendar is May 11.   We will be holding both Commissioner’s Basic and Roundtable Basic trainings that morning from 8:00 – 12:30 at the One Northgate Square building located across from the Council office.   Look for more information in the Smoke Signals or call Henry Sobota at 724-925-9967.
