Camp Tenacharison

Camp Tenacharison is our short-term weekend Camp located between Scottdale and Smithton on Route 981. We have campsites available for weekend camping throughout the year. We also have a Lodge, Wolenter Lodge, available for rental. It is a beautiful Camp!!! 

Wolenter Lodge will sleep 20-25 people on carpeted floor. It is heated and has a stove and refrigerator. Water is located outside the building along with a latrine. You may bring cots or pads to sleep on. The Campsites have pavilions, water is available and there are latrines.  Contact the Council Service Center for more information.

Eberly Scout Reservation

Eberly Scout Reservation is located midway between Donegal and Somerset off of Route 31 within the beautiful Laurel Hill State Park. the reservation is made up of Camp Conestoga and Camp Buck Run. Both camps are available for units to rent between the spring and fall. 

At Camp Conestoga units can utilize any of the 18 campsites, which are equipped with a pavilion, fire circle, and flag pole. Units can also elect to rent out one of the camp’s three showerhouses, which have flush toilets and hot showers. Larger pavilions with electric and the camp dining hall are also available for rent.

At Camp Buck units can utilize either of the two ridge campsites, which are equipped with a two pavilions, two fire circles, and multiple small cabins (houses 4-5) and a large Activity Building (houses 12-18). Each ridge also has two flush toilets and a large wash sink. Units can also elect to rent out the showerhouse which has flush toilets and hot showers. The main pavilion with electric and the dining hall are also available for rent.

Please Note: Water at Eberly Scout Reservation will only be available provided the temperature remains above freezing. Eberly Scout Reservation will be unavailable for rent from mid-November to the end of April. 

Interested in Placing a Reservation? 
  • Applications for reservations of facilities must be submitted two weeks prior to event.
  • Non-Scout Organizations and out of Council units must submit a certificate of insurance with the application.
  • A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required with the application and will be deducted from the total cost of the activity/event. A final bill will be sent after the event once the final attendance has been determined.
  • Any Unit that completes an approved service project totaling at least six hours will have their fees for the weekend waived. All service projects must be approved by the Camp Ranger or the Council Properties Committee.

What is a Campmaster? 

Campmasters are a group of registered Scouters who are selected and trained to serve at the Westmoreland-Fayette Council camps when a Scout unit is using any of the council properties.

Policy Change Effective

June 1, 2020:

Effective June 1, 2020, the following procedures will be enacted for short term camping:

Procedure for Reservations/Deposits (Effective June 1, 2020):

  • Applications for reservations of facilities must be submitted two weeks prior to event.
  • Non-Scout Organizations and out of Council units must submit a certificate of insurance with the application.
  • A $40.00 deposit is required within one week of any reservation involving the use of a building or showerhouse. This deposit will be deducted from the total cost of the activity/event. Any cancellations less than two weeks before the reserved dates will result in the loss of the deposit.

Any unit that currently has a reservation that falls after the June 1st effective date, must submit the required deposit by the end of day on June 1, 2020 in order to keep their reservation. This policy applies to all council properties.
