5 for 5 Event – Troops

Scouting 5 for 5 Meet and Greet Hybrid Event Night.

Are you ready for March 2025? Is your Scout Troop fully engaged in recruitment efforts? Are you looking for more Cubs and adult leaders to fill out your rosters for 2025? We have planned an event you will not want to miss! This event is specifically designed to prepare Cubs for the next step in their Scouting journey. Check out the information below about this exciting event scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th, 2025. 

This is an exciting opportunity and time for Arrow of Light Scouts to interact with Scouts, Scout Troops, and Scout Leaders, and to begin finalizing their decision making in regard to visiting and selecting a Scout Troop of interest in early Spring 2025.

Are you ready to be part of the Scouting 5 for 5 Meet and Greet Hybrid Event Night scheduled for Wednesday, January 8th, 2024, from 6:30 pm to 8:45 pm via Zoom and/or at St. Bruno Church (1715 Poplar St, Greensburg, PA 15601) in the church basement? Let’s engage these Arrow of Light Scouts and their caring adults (They will join the event from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm).

What do you need to know to participate?

Each Scout Troop will have 5 minutes to present 5 great things Arrow of Light Scouts and their caring adults should know about their troop. Make it interesting and engaging and keep it within 5 minutes. Practice your presentation to ensure that you stay within the 5-minute timeframe. What would the Arrow of Light Scouts need to know to make an informed decision about visiting, choosing, and joining your Scout Troop? Since this is a hybrid event, your Scouts will log into Zoom (either on site or off site) and,

  1. Play a prerecorded presentation via Zoom, while being on site to answer questions (Preferred), or
  2. Play a prerecorded presentation via Zoom, while being off site virtually to answer questions, or
  3. Provide a live presentation via Zoom, while being on site to answer questions, or
  4. Provide a live presentation via Zoom, while being off site virtually to answer questions.

The five-minute presentations are to be delivered by Scouts, not leaders.

Each Scout Troop will email a one-page Troop brochure/flyer overview to me by Friday, January 3rd, 2025, which will be shared with the Arrow of Light Scouts and their caring adults.

Scout Troops that register by Friday, January 3rd, 2025, can participate. If your Scout Troop is not able to participate or does not register by the deadline, you may still email your Scout Troop’s one-page brochure/flyer overview to be shared with participants.

Registered Scout Troops will be sent a Zoom link and are to join 15 minutes early (6:45 pm) for a technology check-in (Scout Troops planning to be on site are to be on site by 6:30 pm to set up their tables, displays, and activities and to be ready for the 6:45 pm technology check-in). All participants are asked to dress in Class A Scout Shirts. I will email an agenda with the order of registered Scout Troop presentations.

For those Scout Troops participating on site at St. Bruno Church, you are encouraged to set up and run a Scout Troop table and offer games and fun activities to the Cubs and their caring adults.
