District Award of Notable Achievement
The Dana Waugaman Spark Plug Award — District Award of Notable Achievement — is a special award given to volunteers that serve and represent the Laurel Hills District in Westmoreland-Fayette Council. It is named in honor of Dana Waugaman, our former District Executive, who began the Spark Plug Award in 2013. Like so many volunteers, Dana was a “spark” to the district and was a strong supporter of volunteer service.
This award is bestowed upon registered adult volunteers of the Laurel Hills District who give more than the minimum daily requirement of Scouting to their unit, district, or to Scouting in general. This award is intended for the individual who has added that “special spark” to unit outings or has given their time for a special project that has made a difference in the success of the unit or district program. A volunteer may be presented this award more than once.
